| | | Toby Buckland Any thoughts about the new main presenter of Gardeners' World, Toby Buckland, who has taken over from Monty Don.
My impression is that he is not going to be as well-loved as Monty Don was.
I think it would have been nice to have continued GW with the main presenting split between Carol and Alys. But perhaps that wasn't possible for personal or contractual reasons. Also perhaps GW producers felt a new person would open up new possibilities. |

| | | Re: Toby Buckland I've been quite impressed with him too. But I was a huge fan of Monty, his principles and what he stood for, and for me it is going to take some getting used to now that he isn't presenting GW anymore.
I didn't think GW would ever be good again after Geoff Hamilton died, but full credit to Monty for being able to recreate the warmth that Geoff had in abundance.

His easygoing ,bloke next door personality works well i think as the main presenter.
Love all the gardeners, easy to please me
I have Monty to blame for my renewed interest in the COMPOST HEAP at the bottom of the garden
Just bought the dvd of AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY GARDENS

| | | Re: Toby Buckland Oh wasn't keen on Monty at all ... far too obessed with vegatables. Even when he did that "round the world in 80 gardens" he preferd the veggie garden to the fantsatic fantasy garden in Mexico!
Not sure on the new guy yet - he's a bit kids tv presenter to me. They should have gone with Carol.
Bring back Alan T - what a god!!! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
