| | | Re: Mike Tomkies - where is he now? My wife has a claim to fame. She and her family knew Mike well, and she remembers crossing from one part of Scotland to another by boat, while the bold Moobli ran all the way round the loch and was so fast that he got there before them and was waiting for their arrival! Moobli seems to have been quite a dog! |

| | | Re: Mike Tomkies - where is he now? Thank heavens he changed the dogs name from its original pedigree one! Can anyone remember why he chose the name moobli? It's been ages since i have read any of mikes books but i do recall that he had an idea to call him flubbadubbs or somesuch as moobli had trouble with his oversize paws as a puppy! |

| | | Re: Mike Tomkies - where is he now? Hi all, like several others here i discovered this forum after googling Mike Tomkies. i have spent many a happy hour engrossed in his books ever since my mother bought A last wild place many years ago, i would have loved to have met the man himself and hearing that he lives near Henfield has made me bang my head in despair as i lived in Henfield for several years and had heard about the "Odd wildlife bloke" but i never for a moment thought it would be Mr Tomkies! I have enjoyed reading everybodys posts about him and how he has influenced them in some way and i shall be trying to find a copy of his latest books. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
