Just read Gardening presenter Monty Don is standing down from his BBC duties after suffering a minor stroke several weeks ago, what a shame I will miss him on Gardeners World and other gardening programmes he does.
Lets hope He makes a speedy recovery

I was saddened to hear this too. A good bloke is Monty. I think he is a great presenter of G.W, (not quite as good as the late Geoff Hamilton though, but not far off, which is a big compliment!) and I also enjoy his writings. Get well soon pal and I look forward to seeing you on other stuff.

I KNEW something was up??...
at the start of this series, he told us that it would just be him and the new ginger girl in berryfields and the nutty ginger woman and the lisping bloke would be doing stuff off site this series (i only realised recently his dad is the old man ...miss bouquets husband!)....then as soon as he said it he vanished and carol was presenting from berryfields?...i suspected a problem but didnt expect a stroke which i found out this morning?...
i wonder if a life of anti depressant medication has bought it on ?...how old is he does anyone know?
hes a dude....hope he does other tv stuff when he is better.

I think he is in his early fifties, I was shocked it was a mild stroke always seems so fit, if a compost heap needs turning Montys your man. | | | |
