| | | Id of mosses please Hello everyone I have returned from North wales with some pictures of a what I presume to be a moss but maybe a lichen? They were growing on a species of wild rose. Any ideas?

| | | Re: Id of mosses please Neither a moss nor a lichen. This is a plant gall known as the Bedeguar Gall or Robin's Pin Cushion found on wild roses. It is caused by the gall wasp Diplolepsis rosae. The mossy structure is made by the rose in response to chemicals secreted by the gall wasp. |
