A couple of horsetails

hi!

I found these two horsetails the other day and after reading lancashire lads thread I thought the largest could be Equisitum arvense but I'm not 100% sure since I don't have any keys or guides on horsetails. The largest one was found on fairly well drained soil.

The smaller one was found on semi-water-logged soil.

If anyone has any idea what they are I'd love to know!

The first looks likes Field Horsetail and the second Water Horsetail.

The first is E. arvense, with few "teeth" round the stems, and the second is E. limosum, Smooth horsetail.

I agree, Equisetum arvense and E.fluviatile.

Equisetum limosum is an old name that was once used for E. fluviatile and some have in the past used it as a sub-specific name for that species.
