I couldn't agree more, but of course as Forestforager has just discovered with Lord'-and-Ladies, it's sometimes hard enough to find the correct name in the vernacular!

In my opinion, it is fine to use whatever common name you wish, but, once you have discovered what species your plant is, do try to remember the latin name, and the generally accepted common name, that is the one used in modern flora and field guides.
