The polypody fern was observed right underneath a huge beech tree. The trees have been planted in a type of avenue within the woodland.

Thanks John, although Intermediate Polypody is quite common through most of England, it is much less so in the central part of the country.

Great thanks Dorts, love finding uncommon plants, kinda makes it all worth while Will anyone record this? I could pass details to local recorders. Maybe Brian Laney is interested, he operates in my neck of the woods, although he may have observed it before there.
