| | | Flowering Rhubarb First time I've been in this forum
Got a Rhubarb plant in the garden, been there for about 15 years and never flowered until now, the stalks are impressive too, must have been the cold Winter that did it, the thing's turned into a triffid! The insects seem to like the flowers too so quite a result.
Might have to investigate the chutney/jam recipes now |

| | | Re: Flowering Rhubarb The flower will weaken the plant and it will produce thin weak shoots. So if you are going to keep the plant the flower needs to be removed. |

| | | Re: Flowering Rhubarb It's a fairly frequent garden throw-out or relic of cultivation, and I have seen them in flower quite a few times in the wild. Rather attractive, actually |

| | | Re: Flowering Rhubarb There is an Ornimental Rhubarb, grown for its flowers and coloured leaves called Rheum palmatum. There are several varieties, so if you like the flowers, why not try one? |

| | | Re: Flowering Rhubarb Wow, that's impressive. I've had rhubarb in my garden for many years and it's never flowered. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
