| | | Fern ID please This is tiny - just over 2" across. Growing in mixed woodland. The second photo was meant to show the brown hairy underside of the midrib, but ran out of hands to hold plant, stop camera sliding downhill, focus, and take picture! What it does show is how small the plant is.
Because there are old fronds at the base of it, I assume that this is full size, and not a young version of something bigger. |

| | | Re: Fern ID please It is a species of Polystichum, but should get much bigger! It may be that your plant is an abnormally dwarf specimen and will not get bigger, or it may still be young. I wouldn't like to guess whether it is P. setiferum or P. aculeatum |
