| | | Unidentified moss? I'm not sure that it is a moss, but I'm very sure that I haven't a clue as to its identity! Help very appreciated....... |

| | | Re: Unidentified moss? Hi Jenny,
We may need more info... 1. How long was it? 2. The habitat? 3. What was it growing on?
It may be a fern if not...
Is it the large-leaved green thing, or the thin thing entwined around it??
Take care,
Jason

| | | Re: Unidentified moss? Hi Jason, Its the big-looking but actually very small green thing, but its not a fern!
Growing on a woody riverbank in Southern Ireland, Krauss's Club-moss about 100 yards down-stream, but I don't think it can be an immature form of that as it looks very different. Its bugging me as I'm sure I've spotted it before, but can't think when....... |

| | | Re: Unidentified moss? Hi Jenny,
Sorry for the late reply, I was concentrating on where greenbottles, bluebottles and tachinids break off from their seperate groups and into different directions in terms of scientific classifications and that... as you do... now I've got a headache
Oh, getting back to your moss then, other than suggesting it to be a kind of mat-forming moss I don't really know, sorry. I'll try and learn about it from subsequent posters; it's interesting getting to know a new area like this. |
