Get a few trowelfuls of soil from your wooded area by your garden, and put it in a bottle garden or jam jars, soak with water, put lids on jars if you have lids, put on the window sill, and you’ll soon have lots of moss and probably ferns, as well as all sorts of other stuff. (I did this when my parents died, got some soil from their garden, which is now in a goldfishbowl on my window sill, full of delicate moss, with a few pebbles and mini pottery castle turrets, and one or two tiny plants.)

| | | Re: Moss Used to love it when my mum would leave her pot plants by the window unnoticed for a while. A whole mini rainforrest of moss and mini ferns grew alongside the original giant leafy green plant. Good to know others appreciate it! |
