Unidentified moss etc

Now I'm in trouble, I'm trying to name some of the photos of moss, lichens and liverworts I took last year......

1. Hylocomium splendens?




2. Well its a liverwort.....Marchantia polymorpha?




3. Mnium hornum?



4. Philonotis fontana?



5. This looked distinctive enough, but I couldn't find anything in Phillips that seemed right...



This is completely new ground for me, and boy am I struggling!

Hi Jenny.

The Liverwort looks like Pellia epiphylla.

the liverwort is certainly a Pellia - note the fruiting bodies - in your plant a small black ball on a long stem while in Marchantia it would look like this:

and would have small cups of the thallus like this:


Your plant is probably P. epiphylla which is common, but P. neesiana is similar.
