| | | unidentified moss-type plant I wonder if anyone could identify this for me. 
Large carpets of it were covering areas of the woodland floor (and stumps etc...) in a coniferous/mixed part of the New Forest in Hampshire.
Its like moss, but not really, if you see what I mean.
I know its common, and I feel I should know it, but I don't!
Any help appreciated please!
