ID for thing exploding spores found on log please
I think this find belongs on this forum.

Found on a fallen log at the RSPB nature reserve at Sandy, Beds. Probably oak, but not sure.

At this stage of its development and without any technical back up is there any chance of an ID?

I think this is Arcyria incarnata.

Hello Alison,

Agreed - Arcyria incarnata.

Can't be 100% certain, but the loose attachment of the fluffy capillitium to the cup at the top of the stalk and the colour are good indicators.
