| | | Slime mould ? Found two patches both about 1 sq inch on the lawn yesterday. Photo taken at high mag with 8mm frame width. totally guessing it might be a slime mould ?

Can't offer much in the way of an ID I'm afraid.
Initially, before clicking on the (superb) photo, I was thinking of Mucilago crustacea, the usual suspect for groing amongst live grass . - But to me, this doesn't look like that at all.
I'd guess it may turn out to be one of the ones with stalked sporangia such as Trichia or Hemitrichia sp.
Any chance of update with photos of how it matures/matured.
