| | | Three moths for confirmation/ID, please These three were all attracted to the outside lights at my 'digs' near Huntingdon, all within the last couple of weeks. The photos aren't great as they were taken outside at night with flash (and I don't really know how to use that effectively). Fairly sure this is a Sprawler Dark Chestnut? Not sure - November Moth agg, possibly?
Thanks! |

Agree with the Sprawler, and looking at the pointed tips to the wings would suggest that it is indeed a Dark Chestnut - not that I have seen one in the "hand" yet. Also the last one looks more like one of the winter moths due to the banding - what was the size?

I'd go with;
1. Sprawler
2. Dark Chestnut
3. Winter Moth
Just set the trap here at home, it's a bit cold though!
Cheers,

| | | Re: Three moths for confirmation/ID, please Thanks very much reefbirder and Julian. The Sprawler and Dark Chestnuts were 'firsts' for me. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
