ID help please
Hi

As I don't yet have a moth field guide (it's on my Christmas list!) please can anyone id this moth I caught last night in the garden (South Bucks).

Not the best pic; it flew off straight after!

Hmmm - would have said worn Spruce Carpet - there are black spots in the central band and toward the tip of the forewing. But there again I only identified my first one a month ago.

I would agree with Red-green carpet. It has the colouring and the markings suite it too.

Thanx all. I had another Red-Green Carpet in the same haul, but that one looked much more like the pic on UK Moths - i.e. pretty much green!
