Found in a basket in the house today while looking for a sock



and taken outside for release

Should it be up here in sunny Barnsley? The book I've got says south of the Wash

A lot of migrant moths have been entering the country recently, so maybe a migrant. Apparently the best year since 2006 for migrant moths.

Bordered Straw is an immigrant moth and the provisional moth atlas shows it has been found as far north as Scotland before so it could easily have migrated up to you. As has been said here this year has been amazing for migrants.
