| | | Macro re-post Morning all. Posted this one (with others) a few days ago. It seems its a tricky one. peter2009 thought it might be a worn Uncertain. I'd love to know what it is so have re-posted it in the hope of more comments.
Thanks

| | | Re: Macro re-post Thanks Julian. Worn FR is certainly a possibilty - there has been quite a few
of them around here recently. However, this moth appears comparatively fresh rather than worn, its just quite plain.

| | | Re: Macro re-post Flounced Rustic Luperina testacea can be found with a lot of variation in color but markings remain the same.So flounced is the most likely.

| | | Re: Macro re-post It doesn't look worn to me. Don't know what it is for certain but there is a hint of Flounced Rustic about it.

| | Re: Macro re-post Hi
Its a nice looking moth and one that I have not seen.
Pure guess - Deep brown Dart or similar? Probably miles off but good luck with positive id.

| | | Re: Macro re-post Thanks Falcon. Checked out Db Dart in the field guide. Its a possibility but as with other suggestions, doesn't seem to fit exactly. Itys a shame that id is proving so difficult as its a nice example of whatever it is!
thanks again, alan | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
