#2 is a Turnip Moth Agrotis segetum

Thanks, I am pretty sure it is a Turnip moth, just needed confirmation from someone else.
I don't think it is a Neglected Rustic at all. Doesn't have any of the markings for it. It looks like a faded Brown Rustic to me. See the white dots along the edge of the wing and it has the faint wavy line too. |

Location is Peterborough in East Anglia. The photo was taken on the 22nd of June 2007! An old photo I would like to get an ID on.
To be honest I think the photo does show the colour and details, there was not much patterning on it and it is brown! I agree it could be better but I remember the moth clearly being quite nondescript and difficult to ID. |

Ah, right. June would fit Brown Rustic flight season. To me, though, it looks very yellowish in the photo and I've never seen one that colour! |

1st one looks like it could be a Pale Mottled Willow to me.

It doesn't look anything like a pale mottled willow to me. At the moment I can see it fitting a Brown Rustic. |
