| | | Ultimate Sacrifice? House Moth. I noticed this small moth on top of a skirting board inside a holiday cottage in Cornwall. Some hours later it wa still in the same place. I got my camera and took this picture. When I downloaded the picture it became obvious to me wh the moth hadn't moved - it was a goner!
I also notice a small group of eggs at the base of the abdomen. Do the females of this moth (I think its a White-shouldered House Moth) lay their eggs and then die? Would the body act as food for the grubs when hatched? I am a real novice and have little understanding of the life cycles of these moths so would appreciate and comments.
thanks
