| | | bald spot Hi, does anyone know if the "bald spot" which sometimes appears on the thorax of macro moths is simply due to the fur and scales being worn away over time, or is this something more sinister, or just something else?

| | | Re: bald spot As aeshna says wear and tear and a bit of a nuisance in a busy crowded moth trap - usually where one moth won't settle down and its flapping around upsets all the others and they bat about and lose scales. Large Yellow Underwings are big culprits in this
