| | | Grass veneer moth variations I have been trying to get to grips with these tricky little guys but find positive id difficult due to what I believe to be wide variation of colourings. I think these 8 moths are all Agriphila tristella ( Common grass veneer) but it is very possible (more likely probable) that I am wrong on some of them. I would be grateful fror any comments or guidance. All at my porch light last night in Bournemouth.
thanks, alan

| | | Re: Grass veneer moth variations Hi Alan,
yes they are all Agriphila tristella. The ground colour can vary, but may due as much to wear. The distinctive white marking remains the same though, but can be indistinct on pale/worn specimens. They are appear to be the commonest Crambid around right now.
Cheers,
