2. Monopsis sp., possibly Skin Moth?
3. Acleris laterana, the Dark-triangle Button?

| | | Re: Three Micros for ID please Thanks very much for that Deb! (Sorry I'm a bit slow in responding.)
I've checked your suggestions out on UKMoths, and they look good, but there are so many similar species! The last one could also be the Strawberry Tortrix (though our strawberry crop is long over!)
I see I'm going to have to save my pennies up and buy a moth book that includes the micros. |

Manley has some good photos of some, but of course lots of similar species not shown, but useful to get some idea of what it might be. |

Also known as the Playboy Moth and here's the reason why (note the markings in this photo of one we trapped a couple of weeks ago in my garden).

| | | Re: Three Micros for ID please No worries Pete. Glad to hear that Richard Lewington might bring out that book - it is definitely needed. Love the Playboy image.
I do like the challenge of the micros. The only real ID tool that I have at the moment (apart from the grass moths) is "UKMoths". I use "thumbnails" a lot. But when there is more than a certain degree of variation, photos seem to be missing from the site and the ID becomes almost impossible.
At a moth-ing event someone said that there was an Italian website, but I haven't tracked it down yet. If anyone knows what this is, please do let me know.
