| | | Large moth (flew like a butterfly) I spotted what I thought was a butterfly (a Painted Lady) I only had my phone camera with me, so I watched it until it settled and crept up on it. I don't know who was more surprised, it's wings were folded across its body like a Moth. Then it was gone! any ideas? About 35mm long and 20+mm wide arrowhead shaped rather than triangular

| | | Re: Large moth (flew like a butterfly) Hi ROD,
Did you disturb the moth or was it flying naturally? I'm trying to work out whether it might be day-flying or night-flying.

| | | Re: Large moth (flew like a butterfly) The Butter/moth was already flying when I noticed it, light colour, wing edges appeared to be dark and light alternate dots. It looked like a butterfly flight but it was definitely a moth shape when at rest.

| | | Re: Large moth (flew like a butterfly) Yes, I saw that and wondered. But you are a man of few words. What are you saying?
