| | | Re: Moth id please This one confuses me. It looks like a Small Ranunculus Hecatera dysodea, but then I read they don't fly now. But it does look spot on for this species.

I had a Small Ranunculus last year & they have that to them.
Beautiful moth.
If it is, then it's one to notify your county recorder about.
It is a red data book species.
To help you compare, here are one of each that I had last year.

| | | Re: Moth id please I've finally bought myself a copy of Waring & Townsend and it says there isn't much difference between the grey version of BBW and SR, so will have to wait and see if it was gold and shimmery or not.
I'll let you know, don't want you spending sleepless nights wondering about it
