NO PHOTO - Longhorn Moth

The other day I saw a cloud of what I thought were Longhorn Moths flying around near a pond. I cupped one in my hands and noticed that its wings were banded black and yellow. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera on me, and I assumed it would be relatively straightforward to identify.

Unfortunately after flicking through all the Adela and associated longhorns, I couldn't seem to find one that matched. Could anyone suggest a plausible species that fits the bill?

Have you ruled out one of the caddisflies? Something like Mystacides longicornis sounds quite close to your description if not.

Absolutely perfect!

Thank you very much, the behaviour threw me, they were acting so much like the common longhorn moths in the woodland nearby.
