| | | Unidentified gold coloured moth (possibly some kind of wave moth) Hi, could anyone help me id this moth? I have been searching websites that specialize in moths and there is something about this that makes me think its a type of wave moth (the shape) I know nothing about moths as you can tell by me making a guess purely on the basis of its shape! well its not just the shape, its those little dots on the wings, I have seen those on photos of other wave moths. It looks quite similar to a Mullein wave moth only it doesn't have the row of spots going around the outer edges of the wings, also this one has a really nice golden sheen to it, especially on the feathery hair like outer edge of the wings. I thought it was quite a boring looking moth at first when i saw it on my wall, but i managed to make it move onto a sheet of paper, where it still is at this moment! when i did that i was able to look at it more closely and move it around under the light that's why i could see the metallic gold colour. Now i need to decide what to do with it, it is very lazy and has not moved from its spot on my wall for an entire night and day, it only moved when i made it go on the paper and it seems to have settled on that now so i think it might be dying or something, what are moths doing when they come into the house, are they looking for somewhere to lay eggs or to take cover, or looking for a mate? is it best that i encourage it to fly out the window, i feel kinda cruel doing that though! anyway here is a pic of the moth in question, oh, the wingspan is about 2cm if that's any help!
Thanks
