| | 1 Moth and 1 caterpillar for ID Good afternoon,
Wondering if someone can help me ID these 2, both about 10mm long. Sorry I don't know the ID of the purple flowers the caterpillar is on. Both found in Norfolk garden.

Don't know the answer to your pupation question, but it might either pupate on the vegetation or fall off into the soil. In fact, I know very little about hoverfly life cycles |

When it pupates I wonder how long it would take until it emerges?
