| | | Four for ID please These were in my trap this morning:
1
2
3
4
I think the third may possibly be a worn Common Carpet. The first was very small so I presume it's a micro.
Thanks in advance! |

| | | Re: Four for ID please I should have checked the latest threads in this forum first!
I now think 3 is a Silver-ground Carpet (I should have recognised it), and 4 is a Rustic Shoulder-knot. |

| | | Re: Four for ID please No, I don't think 4 is a Turnip moth - they have a third small black mark above the oval and kidney marks, I think. |

| | | Re: Four for ID please Hi Peter,
Some more nice moths from your trap!
1 is Marbled Minor agg. As Anzu says it needs to go to see the doctor to make sure of its true id. I always put them down as MM agg.
2 is Rustic Shoulder-knot
3 is Silver-ground Carpet
4 is also Rustic SK
Regards

| | | Re: Four for ID please Thank you Anzu and ornithom!
I did wonder if 2 and 4 might be the same species. Rustic Shoulder-knot is a new one for me, as is the Marbled Minor agg. Altogether I had at least six new species in my trap on Friday night, although only about 20 moths in total.
I really should have remembered the Silver-ground Carpet, I think that's three times I've had one ID'd on WAB now! |
