| | | Moth ID help, please! Hello all, can anyone help me with this little moth (approx 5-7mm in length) I found on a leaf in woodland around Kinver Edge, Shropshire on Good Friday. The photograph doesn't do it justice, as the wings had a beautiful metallic gold paint job, really bright and shiny! I saw two or three others on my walk that day, so I don't think it's very rare! |

It was a great start, and after searching and looking at many pictures of the family, I think perhaps it could be Adela reaumurella. I'd be interested in anyone else's thoughts! |

I'd agree with your id of Adela reaumurella, probably a female as the 'horns' are not as long as the male.

Steve T | Hi Steve - thanks for the reply, and for the tip about it being a female (i.e. having shorter 'horns'), that's something new I've learned! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
