elephant hawkmoth cocoon
Need help with an elephant hawk moth cocoon, was doing a bit of weeding today and found an EHM cocoon below, it was a lovely buttery yellow and wriggling like mad, thought the best thing to do was leave it to do what it wanted.
A couple of hours later when my husband came home dragged him out to look at it and it had turned an orangey colour!
Is this normal and maybe it is going to hatch(if that is the right phrase?) or have I just killed it by not covering it up again???
