Totally wrong shape/pattern for Oak Beauty. I think you have a Double-striped Pug there. |

Certainly looks like apug - I suggest you take a look through the different types.
Looks more like a Brindled pug Eupithecia abbreviata to me

also looks similar to larch pug Eupithecia lariciata. Can't be certain I'm afraid...

I think it's most likely to be Brindled Pug (but I'm still useless at pugs) - Brindled is one of the early pugs. |

I'd definitely say this is a Brindled Pug, based on it's wing-shape (Double-striped always appears very short-winged, almost diamond in outline) and also the brownish patch which seems to cut through the stripes of the forewings, Double-striped doesn't shows this.
