I'm really looking forward to putting my trap out tonight, looks like it could be a good night weather-wise. |

| | | Re: Mothing 2011 Impressive lists, plenty there that I'd like to see!
I opened the trap up this morning to find a stunning Lappet, a moth that's been top of my wishlist since I started trapping so I'm very happy I'd just been planning an excursion away from the garden to target this species too, so I am delighted to have one show up here!

| | | Re: Mothing 2011 Well done Guy, that's a very nice find!
I had a good night with the trap on Saturday/Sunday. Over 200 moths, with at least 35 species and 13 or more that were new to the garden (though three of them I'd seen the week before at Thursley). The best newcomer was probably a Buff Arches, one of the moths I was really hoping to see when I got the trap. |

I managed to get some better photos of him against a clearer background which I still need to sort through, but this sort of shows the amazing camouflage of this species. I think he definitely has to go down as one of the highlights of my mothing so far.
Buff Arches is a nice one too Pete, a really beautiful species
