Huge American moth
Spotted this guy in a park in New Orleans last summer. I know it doesn't look that big but it was about 10 feet up on the side of a building and I could see it there from about 30 feet away as I approched, I thought it might have been a bat at first (it was at least hand sized).

Anyways here is the fellow, it was very pretty.

Rustic Sphinx Moth Manduca rustica? I think. Very pretty.

Cheers buddy, maybe hand sized was a bit of an exaggeration but still pretty big compared to most UK moths.
