| | | One moth to ID Taken back in July and In my garden (Northampton) if I remember rightly. Been sitting in my files nameless so.... I think it is a Yellow shell (Camptogramma bilineata) but its resting position is making it look different to an illustration in my guide, plus I am not great on my moths!
Cheers |

| | | Re: One moth to ID Yes its Camptogramma bilineata however a garden in northamptonshire is far from typical habitat. The habitat in your avatar photo is more typical, northern mountains, hills, scree etc on limestone. |

| | | Re: One moth to ID Thanks guys, It may have not been took in my garden, can't remember, the avatar is an ascent on Scarfell lake district, but I defiantly didn't take the moth pic there. I have seen a yellow shell in a public lavatory before, although as a rule I don't generally moth hunt in lavatories! |

| | | Re: One moth to ID I'm assuming this is ssp. bilineata as the others (according to Waring & Townsend) are found in Shetland, Outer Hebrides, Ireland and Blasket Islands (Ireland).
It's a very attractive moth and one I like to see - although I've never managed a decent photograph of one! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
