Migrants?
Is this a good time of year for migrants? or is it beacuase of the southerly winds we had a few weeks ago? Has anyone else had large numbers of migrants recently?

I have had 2 Gems and (what will probably turn out to be) a rusty dot pearl in 3 days. Never seen a gem before but had one in the trap for 2 consecutive days!

Is this normal to get lots of migrants together?

Oh, and just how common/uncommon are Gems?

There have been strong SE winds here (SW Ireland), and I was lucky enough to find eight Vestals in around the 15w Actinet on Sunday/Monday night.

There have been a lot of migrants recently- including quite a few Vestals + other species. Probably the rarest species this week has been a Red-headed Chestnut.

Also a Monarch was seen in Wales.
