Found this tatty moth whilst on a fungi foray in clearing in broad leaf woodland. The nearest I can get towards an ID is Scarce Bordered Straw. Corrections or comments welcomed.

Not sure what it is, but I don't think it's a Scarce Bordered Straw. |

Yes Les, you have a Scarce Bordered Straw! i've only ever seen one, but seen umpteen Brick and can clearly see that your moth's forewings are much narrower and elongated than in a brick.

Many thanks Pete, Sarah and Benny for taking the time to look and comment upon my image.
I do realise that it was a tatty individual, and that getting a positive ID would therefore be diffecult. I shall name it as a possible in my own records, and will keep a look out for any more of these when next we visit this interesting reserve.
