| | | Last two nights efforts Unfortunately the Met Office lied - much colder than forecast, and the bright full moon hasn't exactly helped numbers. Not even a Large Yellow Underwing last night.
21st September
Square-spot Rustic
Lesser Yellow Underwing
Buttoned Snout*
Large Yellow Underwing
Vine's Rustic
Small Dusty Wave
Light Brown Apple Moth
Willow Beauty
22nd September
Lesser Yellow Undewing
Large Ranunculus
Common Wainscot
Lunar Underwing
Light Brown Apple Moth
Wax Moth
(Hornet)
The Buttoned Snout made all the efforts worthwhile. Apparently Scarce B, but fairly frequent around here. |

| | | Re: Last two nights efforts I think in the south Buttoned Snout isn't that uncommon. Often best detected by searching for larvae on Hops. Nice photo by the way, Peter! |
