| | | Another poor night for numbers. Well, I put the trap out last night as it was particularly mild and it looked quite good early on. The final count is as follows:
Agriphila geniculea x 1
Agriphila tristella x 1
Brimstone x 1
Large Yellow Underwing x 2
Light Brown Apple Moth x 1
Brown House Moth x 1
Celypha lacunana x 1
Flounced Rustic x 5
Lesser Yellow Underwing x 2
Rustic agg x 1
Small Dusty Wave x 2
Square-spot Rustic x 4
Vine's Rustic x 1
Willow Beauty x 1
Monopis laevigella x 1 (new to me, awaiting confirmation)
Argyresthia goedartella x 1 (very pale, awaiting confirmation)
16 species, 26 moths
As I say, low numbers, but still a half decent species count I suppose!

Seriously though it was a home made trap with a old fluorescent tank light. May try building a proper one one day |

| | | Re: Another poor night for numbers. I made mine from the plans on the Atropos website (under Garden Moths or something like that!). I also use fish tank lights! 2 moths? I suppose at least it can't get worse..!
The Rustic agg has now changed into a Hedge Rustic on closer inspection!
