Hummingbird Hawkmoth

Hi all

I haven't seen one of these in my garden for a couple of years, let alone get a half decent photo of one!



I was quite chuffed at getting this one - considering I was still kicking myself for not being quick enough at getting the camera out and missing getting photos of 5 buzzards above my garden

Elusive things aren't they!

I've seen one very briefly the last two years, before that in the hot 2006 there was one around regularly.

I still have some Buddleia in flower, will have to keep an eye open for it. When I saw it this year it was on purple Phlox, but it went too quickly to get a shot even though I had my camera!

I saw that on the same day and shortly after I got the Red-tipped Clearwing, I got some shots of that so I guess I can't complain too much.

Well done, and a nice shot at that!
