| | | Really chuffed with this moth! I put the trap out last night as the rain was quite light and after it being out for an hour I went to look and see what was there. I had quite a shock to see a huge moth sitting there, so I potted it up and brought it indoors for a better look. I was very surprised and very pleased to see an Old Lady sitting there!
Happy moth-ing!
Jo

| | | Re: Really chuffed with this moth! They're great aren't they? Nice catch. From recent posts it looks like the Old Ladies have decided now is the time to get out and socialise.
We had a couple in our light trap just a few days ago, but last year (without light) we found 3 on a fruit feeder (raisins and bits of apple in mesh) that we'd put out for the birds! You could see them all poking their tongues onto the fruit. We had Square Spot Rustics and a Dot Moth on it too

| | | Re: Really chuffed with this moth! Lovely example Jo.
The one had about a 6 weeks ago just flew into the house during the day & really was 'an old lady'. Very worn & torn indeed poor love.
