Hummingbird Hawk Moth
Had this wonderful little visitor to my garden in Kent last week. I dont know how common they are but I have never seen one before

Thank you, he (or she?) was very co-operative and just hovered right in front of me I had the camera about 6 inches away. Gorgeous little thing, I hope he comes back

I haven't seen 1 in the UK this year (saw several last week in Hungary) but there are quite a few around at the moment. A couple on my walk today reported finding a large larva of one last week.
