An unusual shot from the underside, it looks to me like a male Fox Moth but June/July is their flight time, When was your photograph taken?
A possible alternative would be a male Oak Eggar, which appears (in my area) just as Fox Moths are going over.

Harry | I'll go for a similar moth, the Drinker, it looks like it has the long 'snout' of this species and they're certainly large and furry!
