| | | Mossy-green barred Geometrid Hi,
I've scoured just about every site I can but can't find this. It looks a little worn, but the general pattern and colour can be seen.
6th August 2010 attracted to light.
Any clues anyone?
Janet

| | | Re: Mossy-green barred Geometrid I think it may be a July Highflyer - I've just posted a fresh specimen in the moth Gallery and I think from the wing shape and faint patterning on yours it will be the same.

They are very variable, but the shape and markings are fairly distinctive.

| | | Re: Mossy-green barred Geometrid Thanks Rob and Guy, I looked at that one but didn't recognise it!
I haven't had a July Highflyer before, not that I've seen anyway.

The July Highflyer is one of the most variable of all moths in colour and pattern, it's almost as variable as the Large Yellow Underwing.
