| | | Is this a Poplar Hawk Moth? Hi - would appreciate help ID'ing this moth please - also any ideas why it's front leg suddenly appeared red - could it be blood? (I picked it up off the road but it didn't seem injured)

| | | Re: Is this a Poplar Hawk Moth? This is an Oak Hawkmoth Marumba quercus. Was this shot taken in England? this is a european species, it would be extremely rare to be in the UK. Perhaps its escaped from a collection. |
