Silver Y invasion
I was by the sea in Suffolk last weekend and noticed that every flowering bramble bush had dozens of Silver Y moths. They also seemed to go mad for privet.

Forgive my ignorance but would these be newly arrived migrants or second generation? Also there seems to be a lot of variation of size and colour. Is that a generation thing?

I've had 2 or 3 Silver Y attracted to the Buddleia in my garden for the last few weeks. I only just found out what they were. Last night there were dozens. I guess there is an invasion this year.

There have been some incredible numbers of Silver- Y recorded on the east coast recently- I would have though fresh immigrants.
