Anothe moth for identification please

This little chap flew in last night then promptly vanished, i found him or her perched on camera tripod bag today so just had to get a photograph.

To me this is an unusual insect due in part to the colouration and also the way the wings are held in an odd upright position, if someone can identify it for me i wuld appreciate it.

It's pretty common, but lovely none the less!
