| | | Blue Moth? I get a variety of moths fluing in my window cos the light's right by it. Tonight I was surprised to look at the assembled beigy things on the ceiling, and was surprised to see that one of them is plain, pale blue.
It's about 30mm across.
I don't see any plain blue moths in sources inline I can find.
Is it more likely to be a lost and late butterfly? |

| | | Re: Blue Moth? Hi Gascar
Another suggestion is something like the Light Emerald which can appear bluish sometimes,or perhaps one of the other Emeralds in a faded bluish guise.
But again a photo would be very useful,if you could get one in.

| | | Re: Blue Moth? Was it resting with wings spread open? My thoughts would be that is an Emerald of some sort. Possibly Light Emerald - this can be very washed out in colour. |

| | | Re: Blue Moth? Now look what you've made me do!
Now I see it up close, it was about to expire anyway surely? Looks pretty beaten up to me.
It looks much more emerald than it did on the ceiling, and what doesn't show on a white background is its wing transparency.
SO there we are then, I didn't know we had green moths!
I'll try to upload a slightly bigger picture, if it gets shrunk I'll post an external link as well...
I can't get my head round image uploading in this forum!
Ummm...
