| | | Pale headed Tortrix Hi,
It has checkers, some hint of barring, would suggest Chequered Fruit-tree Tortrix Pandemis corylana.
But, the pale head is confusing! I know there's one which has white on the face but this is more extensive.

| | | Re: Pale headed Tortrix Epiphyas postvittana could be a possibility they can be very variable.
Do you have any shots from above? would make it easier to see the body shape and wing pattern. |

| | | Re: Pale headed Tortrix No Dogg I don't, it was on the light well above me and I was stood on a chair!
I see the likeness to the snout of Epiphyas postvittana, experience in variations can be useful.

| | | Re: Pale headed Tortrix I wonder if anyone has seen this then!
I tried to think it could be because of the angle, but it does clearly show a different colour on the head and beyond that.

| | | Re: Pale headed Tortrix It looks like it's wearing a head scarf! Or maybe one of those plastic rain bonnets the elderly ladies wear to protect their perms in the rain... This isn't helpful, is it? I'll go away now...

| | | Re: Pale headed Tortrix I think this is Aleimma loeflingiana....the barring and light head area does fit this variable species. |

Jo | I could go with that, we have had some of that wet stuff lately!
Aha, thanks Fauna, I think that is it. Aleimma loeflingiana is one I have, and it is very variable. I've had some with very little markings, others that are very dark.
